Four Points to Consider Before Buying Best Down Comforterkiki
Comforters also known as duvets offer a warm, cozy and comfortable feeling. They come in variety of fabrics, colors, fills and sizes. Here at Bedding for Men, we believe in keeping things simple, therefore we will not confuse you with irrelevant details. Instead we will focus on simple and best down comforter, what to look for when you are buying one and how to wash and protect your comforter so you can enjoy it year after year.
Best Down Comforter:
A down comforter that is super expensive doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best. We believe in the simple rule of thumb, that is ‘the best down comforter is the one you can use all year round’. It’s called all season down comforter. Its outer layer, also known as shell is made of cotton, filled with natural down, and is baffle wall constructed.
Now when you are looking to buy one, you have to consider four factors. First, as mentioned above, its outer layer should be made of cotton. Second, it should have a filling of natural down. Natural down could be goose down or duck down. Third factor is its construction – by this, I mean, how it’s sewn. When they fill the outer layer with down, it has to be sewn in a way that fill will not move after one months of use. Therefore, from top to the bottom of the comforter they sew it in a way that fill is evenly distributed and cold spots are eliminated. Last but not least is the warranty. I’d stress on this point because you are investing $200 plus for a best down comforter and you’d like it to last at least 3-5 years.
Now that you have invested in a down comforter, you should also know how to protect it. Please note that a down comforter cannot be washed every so often. This is why I’d strongly recommend getting a duvet cover. A duvet cover also known as comforter cover will not only protect your comforter from spills and stains but will also offer the ease and simplicity of washing it.
